Right from the start, we liked all the people we worked with. Everyone has been easy to work with and very helpful. Renovations are always hard - almost painful - to live through, but the team at Shane went out of their way to make it easier for us. As for the work itself, both the main Shane team as well as their subs are incredibly meticulous and professional. We love the fact that they have such a good and long-standing relationship with their subcontractors. Having a major renovation done is scary and it is a large commitment in terms of money and time. Yet from the very start, we felt there was a level of trust that ran both ways, making the process less stressful.
They are full service. We already had a design going into this, however, they walked us through material selection, pricing options and trade-offs, and gave us a sense of what things would look like. They gave some excellent advice on what to choose.
Our project had so many interdependent parts and managing a project like this is really difficult - something we were not capable of doing ourselves. But they managed everything to schedule. Every project will have hiccups. We had very few, and they dealt with them really well. They always kept the lines of communication open.
And at the end of the day, we absolutely adore what our house looks like now!
Matt did exceptionally well; it's not easy managing home renovation client's, along with trades, schedules and the day to day, while exuding patience and confidence. Use your brain and go with Team Shane! You will have no renovation pain!
My wife and I asked if they could come by for a consultation to see if we could redirect our staircase to the second floor. Both Robyn and Shane came to look at the job. They were both very friendly, polite and professional. Although after the logistics were done we weren't able to go forward with the redirection I found the experience working with them great. They kept great communication and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. If down the line me and my wife are looking to go forward with more large scale renovations I wont hesitate to give them a call.

As owners of a century home, we had very specific requests which were a combination of a modern functional renovation coupled with many historic elements. Team Shane understood our vision from the beginning and thanks to Team Shane, we accomplished exactly what we wanted. Throughout the renovation Team Shane demonstrated a high quality of workmanship, expertise, and attention to detail. By choice, we were very involved homeowners throughout the renovation, and we appreciated that Team Shane was respectful of our needs and wants and accommodated us. At times, we may have slowed them down slightly but their willingness to work with us demonstrated that they respected our requests, input and knowledge of our house. This resulted in achieving a renovation that transformed our house into a beautiful home that is not only functional and comfortable, it’s also historically in-tact. It was a pleasure working with Team Shane, starting on day one! Mike listened to our ideas and helped us prioritize our wish list and where our money would be best spent. Our budget was respected and Mike was open and honest about expectations.
Caell worked through the design process with us, incorporated all of our ideas, worked around obstacles and made suggestions to maximize our budget. Vanessa, the selections manager, coordinated all of the partners and ensured that everything was on site, and ready for installation. Reuben was the project manager and honestly he, Adam and the team were amazing. They were always kind and respectful and felt like family.
The job site was kept clean and the atmosphere was friendly. Through every step of the process, we felt as part of the team. When small problems (only small problems!) came up, everyone worked together to come up with a solution. We always felt that our voices were heard and consulted before decisions were made. We are extremely satisfied with the renovations and Team Shane’s attention to detail.
To be honest, we started this process a few times over the years and we walked away because of a gut feeling. That gut feeling was always that I, the woman, was not respected. Never once did I feel dismissed, mansplained or called "Hun." Every person on Team Shane treated us like family. I felt completely comfortable being at home when the guys were working and I felt safe to let the teenager come and go if I had to go out. I mean, who else would watch out for the kid after school to make sure she didn’t come face to face with the coyote that had been napping in the front yard all day. Everyone on your team, including your partners, were a pleasure to work with.
Shane himself came and quoted our family regarding a main floor and exterior renovation last year. After some consideration, although they had the highest prices, they also had great prior reviews and when you're spending large sums of money, I would rather have the comfort that the job will be done right. Caell assisted with the design and drawings and was extremely helpful. Eventually, we were set up with Vanessa, who helped with all the due dates and assisted with picking out the materials/deadlines for choices. This was helpful with their own custom phone app. That lays it all out (great idea). Vanessa works extremely hard and coordinates so many things (all the materials etc.) Not sure how she manages several projects at a time. She was also very flexible when needed regarding lending materials/samples. Lucas was our project manager. I have heard stories that clients never see the manager, or.maybe once or twice. Lucas was practically at the house every day that work was going on and sometimes even several times a day (even saw him with a couple tools helping out and keeping the site clean etc). He was very understanding regarding the some or our last minute changes and assisted to make that happen. I am very pleased with how down to the dollar things were. When change was needed to add or remove something, you would use the app to approve it and you can see the exact amount being added or subtracted. The employees on the site regularly, mostly Will, Zac and Tyler were always early for work, extremely friendly and the craftsmanship was very good. I was living here through the renovation and they were great at making it as easy as possible for me. The subcontractors were all the same, very very nice work and friendly crews. I couldn't have had a better experience with all of the above. Even through the pandemic, everything turned out and was only behind a couple weeks by the end (April to July, but ended in August. I would recommend Shane Renovations, especially if you're project is larger. Thanks everyone. Jeff and Carly.
