Client’s Goals 

They wanted to break this renovation into two parts; the addition and then the renovation of the existing home.  They’re located along Lake Ontario so they wanted to make sure the exterior finishes were able to withstand the weather while also creating a modern feel that ties into the relaxed feeling of living near a beach. 

Points of Interest 

• Everything on the exterior!  We used metal siding, stucco and stone 
• The colour palette was neutral, but we added visual interest with the use of differently textured material, which all worked along the beachfront 
• We added a glass railing, so it did not impede the view from the second-floor balcony; eliminating the top rail, also allows for great views 
• The floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom of the addition, make it a great view to wake up to!
